Diana Stoeva-Wassenaar
I come from Sofia, Bulgaria. With my husband and our two beautiful children – a girl and a boy, we live in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
My background is in writing (journalist, scriptwriter) and I have worked as a social worker. At the moment I study and work as a “Kraamverzorgende,” a specialized nurse that takes care of mother and baby in the first week after giving birth.
I am a certified Whole Woman practitioner from 2021. I work with women from my home in Leeuwarden and online.
I am fluent in Bulgarian, English, and Dutch.
My Story:
Soon after giving birth to our second child, I discovered my body had changed: I had bulges in my vagina and occasional leakage of urine. I was terrified. I was looking for answers about what was happening to me. So, the day came when a very well-meaning gynecologist told me: “We’ll wait until your prolapse gets much worse, and the urinary incontinence becomes impossible to bear, and then, we’ll do a surgery.” These words frightened me, but they also activated me to take action.
And there was Christine and her book “Saving the Whole Woman.” The first step was to accept I have a prolapse, the second step – to understand how to manage it. This is how my Whole Woman journey started: I was becoming mindful of my posture and was reminding myself throughout the day (I still do) to lift the chest, tuck the chin. Urinary incontinence stopped being an issue and I could observe the dynamics of my organs.
Every woman has the right to know how her body works. It is such a relief to know that prolapse is a manageable condition; the pelvic organs are mobile and the body responds no matter our age.
A prolapsing front vaginal wall actually is the bladder pushing into the front vagina wall and creating a bulge in there. A prolapsing back vaginal wall is the rectum pushing into the back vaginal wall and creating a bulge there. My pelvic health is in my own hands. Your pelvic health is in your hands.
Our bodies are beautiful and smart. And when deprived of proper posture and breath – they will complain, will give us a symptom.
I am here to guide you in your journey to return to Natural Posture and Breathing, which will result in getting control over your prolapse and incontinence. Empowered with knowledge about how our body works, we women can deal with our prolapse, incontinence, and chronic hip and knee pain.
